LASER GUM THERAPY

STAGES OF GUM DISEASE

The first stage of gum disease is usually identified by puffy, swollen, and bleeding gums. The early stage is known as gingivitis and is relatively easy to treat. If it is left untreated and develops into periodontitis, however, we may need to perform periodontal therapy or laser gum disease treatment to eradicate the active infection. Advanced stages of gum disease can lead to tooth loss, negatively impacting oral and overall health.

BENEFITS OF THE LANAP® PROTOCOL FOR GUM DISEASE TREATMENT

We may recommend LANAP® laser treatment over other periodontal therapies for a number of reasons. Laser treatment is minimally invasive and there is virtually no downtime involved. Patients experience less bleeding, sensitivity, and discomfort than with traditional gum surgery.

We can eradicate almost all of the infection in a single visit with LANAP® laser surgery and you can return to your regular activities shortly after treatment.

LANAP® LASER THERAPY FOR THE TREATMENT OF GUM DISEASE

The LANAP® protocol is a proven method for killing bacteria that reside under the gums without causing trauma to surrounding tissues. The laser is passed over the infected tissue to eliminate bacteria and induce the natural healing process. LANAP® treatment is an FDA cleared laser protocol for treating gum disease and boasts a very high success rate. We may recommend the LANAP® protocol as part of your gum disease treatment plan to prevent loose teeth and tooth loss.
